Making a plan

My favorite scripture, and one that I cling to tightly at this point in my life is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This week I was thinking about this scripture, especially in light of several events/pieces of news/situations that have arisen. And I realized, once again, that the future really is NOT in my control. It’s all about where God wants me, and us, and what will bring us peace, joy, and happiness. A hope. And a future. Getting ready!

I admit that it’s been hard to get back in the swing of things with school so far – that might be because we started on a Thursday and the kids didn’t start until today. But we had a great first day of school!  Pooh and Tigger both have the same teacher, but one goes to morning Pre-K and the other to afternoon, which will give the two of them a break from each other. And maybe things will not be quite so crazy in the evenings and I’ll get things together and get organized! Planning out my week in advance really helps, so here we go… Continue reading

Not one for the backyard (though fresh raw milk would be excellent!).  One for the freezer.  And really, only part of one for the freezer. But right now, I’m not sure we could fit in a single hoof!  A couple weeks ago I did a huge freezer clean-out and organization, along with a big inventory list so that I knew what was lurking in the back.  I have sort of half-heartedly been using up a few things, but I haven’t stopped buying things to add to my stock. Now it’s time to get serious about it!  Perfect timing to join the Summertime Pantry Challenge over at Good Cheap Eats!

Sweaty Summer Cycling – Fuel Cycling, that is!

This week I’m starting the second week of my Trim Healthy Mama Fuel Cycle. Right at this point I’m down about 1.6 pounds from the day I started my Fuel Cycle, and that’s a pretty good loss for me, so I want to see if doing the second week will push me along even further.

Update on Day 8: As of today, my scale tells me that I am down 3.8 pounds on one week of the Fuel Cycle! WooHoo! Continue reading
