Making my plan

Jeremiah 29:11:
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Last week was tough, let me tell you! It was the first week of classes, and I was busy and didn’t plan my menu and week out well.  By Wednesday, I was already exhausted, and then both Wednesday and Friday were close to 12-hour work days. Friday was busy too, plus we had a social event that evening that we could not skip. I was T.I.R.E.D!! As I think back over the week, I know that my biggest mistake was simply not planning my menu and food for the week. When I don’t eat well, my energy goes way down, and it gets even worse as I try for some quick fixes to get my energy back up. So this week, a PLAN is definitely in order if I’m going to successfully make it through the week.

Planning for Fuel Cycle Success

I know, I keep mentioning Trim Healthy Mama, and I’ve posted a bunch of Fuel Cycle menus, but I haven’t really taken the time to talk about the Fuel Cycle and what it does for me. The Trim Healthy Mama Fuel Cycle is a week where we try to shake things into gear in terms of weight loss.  It’s not for beginners, or even for ladies who are consistently losing, but instead was created for those with stubborn weight that are stalling and not losing.  As a Turtle who loses, on average, no more than 0.2 pounds a week, I do a Fuel Cycle every couple months to shake things up.  And it works. I lose anywhere between 2 and 7 pounds anytime I do a Fuel Cycle! Now I’m working on keeping it off in between Fuel Cycles! Continue reading

Where has the time gone?!

Jeremiah 29:11:
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

I’m freaking out a bit about the fact that October is half over and I still have TONS to do – I have no idea where the time has gone!  But I’m forcing myself to sit back, focus a little, and make a plan. A really strong cup of coffee in my hand really helps with that ;-)

My focus this week: Finish some projects

Ready for the week!

Jeremiah 29:11:

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

God’s got the overall plan for me under control, so I’m just working on the little stuff here on my end! I’m experimenting with changing up some categories on my planning post this week, most notably the following: Continue reading

Making a plan

My favorite scripture, and one that I cling to tightly at this point in my life is Jeremiah 29:11: For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

This week I was thinking about this scripture, especially in light of several events/pieces of news/situations that have arisen. And I realized, once again, that the future really is NOT in my control. It’s all about where God wants me, and us, and what will bring us peace, joy, and happiness. A hope. And a future. Getting ready!

I admit that it’s been hard to get back in the swing of things with school so far – that might be because we started on a Thursday and the kids didn’t start until today. But we had a great first day of school!  Pooh and Tigger both have the same teacher, but one goes to morning Pre-K and the other to afternoon, which will give the two of them a break from each other. And maybe things will not be quite so crazy in the evenings and I’ll get things together and get organized! Planning out my week in advance really helps, so here we go… Continue reading

Sweaty Summer Cycling – Fuel Cycling, that is!

This week I’m starting the second week of my Trim Healthy Mama Fuel Cycle. Right at this point I’m down about 1.6 pounds from the day I started my Fuel Cycle, and that’s a pretty good loss for me, so I want to see if doing the second week will push me along even further.

Update on Day 8: As of today, my scale tells me that I am down 3.8 pounds on one week of the Fuel Cycle! WooHoo! Continue reading

Fuel Cycle Frittata

I love frittata and quiche, and over my years of weight watching and dieting, I’ve come to rely on them as a staple. My favorites are full of cheese and cream, plus they contain lots of veggies and sometimes some meat. Recently, I just wanted to get rid of some stuff in my freezer, and I hit upon one that is a definite winner. Since I just threw it together, my measurements are not going to be terribly exact here, but you get the idea.

Swimsuit Season??!! Fuel Cycle Menu coming up!

Eek! Summer’s here, and this Mama is very NOT ready for swimsuit season! To help get a little more prepared, I’m planning to do my third Trim Healthy Mama Fuel Cycle this week. The first time I tried one, I lost about 5 pounds. The second one, I only lost one pound during the Fuel Cycle week, but then I lost another 3 the following week. Since I generally only lose about .2 pounds a week (if that much), these were FANTASTIC losses for me! Continue reading
